So happy to welcome all of you brilliant folks to the new site! Let me give you a little tour.
If you look to your right, you’ll notice a lovely little menu, at the bottom of which is a place for you to sign up for email updates. That way, new posts will be sent right to you, saving you the bother of checking in all the time. (For those who were signed up before, if you could take just a minute to sign up again, ‘twould be much appreciated.)
In the Poetry and Short Fiction sections we’ve collected posts for easier navigation. The most recent poems and short stories can also be found directly below.
Another project I’ve been mulling over, and am wild to get started on, is the Book Club. (!!!) If you’re interested in participating, or have suggestions of books you’d like to read and discuss, leave a comment over on the Book Club page, or shoot me a quick email over on the Contact page. I can’t wait to dive into something amazing together!
Click on the About page (the one that says Shawnacy Kiker), to play a quick game, and watch my 32 second inaugural mini-vlog.
Finally I have to thank the legendary Niall Doherty for setting the site up, and getting everything all shipshape (if you’re planning to make any big changes to your own site, definitely check out his work – HERE. Highest marks.), and Mandy Steward – artist, mother, thinker, and sculptor of truth – for the gorgeous and mesmerizing zentangle artwork you see to your left.
Come on in, look around, leave a note, a cryptic lyric, a coded message, a suggestion, a random observation about modernity, post-modernity, or exit-modernity, a favorite word, an obscure psychological condition, or just let us all know what you had for lunch.
Glad of you today. Like fog and streetlamps.

Oh!!!! How beautiful! It’s inspiring just to be here! Congratulations…it reminds me of every time I purchased a new journal with all its pristine white pages just waiting for soul-spilling. I look forward to following your journey here.
thank you so much, rain! i have the same feeling – anticipation of all the things that will fill this space.
I love your new space, Shawnacy and hope that your writing and other projects will be blessed with abundance here.
I have updated the blogroll on Real Toads to include this site, so that the members who follow your work can easily access new posts.
Glad of you every day
Thank you, kerry!
For some unfathomable reason, when I added this site to my blogroll, it comes up as a bad gateway and won’t load it from my page, nor does it appear on the Real Toads blogroll. I’m no great internet expert, so I’m bamboozled.
uh oh. … i’m looking into it.
This place is beautiful. What a wonderful way to collect and organize your work and to keep the tribe-making.
